BIG BLACK DELTA, signed to Onelove Recordings in Australia, is the brainchild of Jonathan Bates, who until recently was the driving force behind alt. rock favourites Mellowdrone, toured Australia with M83, and has garnered universal respect for his remix work with Daft Punk, Rob Zombie and Thenewno2. Now after a series of hyped SXSW shows in the bag, and the critically acclaimed single “Side of the Road” still fresh in everyone’s memory, BIG BLACK DELTA release their much anticipated self-titled album, “Big Black Delta”.
The album features much revered singles “BETAMAX” and “I F#CKING LOVE YOU”, and delivers a beautifully intense collection of tracks that fuse ambient, electronic rock with uplifting melodies to create a sound that refuses to be denied and has already made heavyweight fans from Jay-Z to Dave Navarro.
BIG BLACK DELTA have also given us a futuristic insight into their explosive live performances, with Jonathan Bates dancing in a digital world for the official “Side of the Road” music video, originally premiering on Pitchfork (http://pitchfork.com/news/50042-watch-big-black-delta-dance-in-the-digital-world-for-the-side-of-the-road-video/) and now receiving TV support across Australia.
With local love for “Side of the Road” coming from Triple J and Channel V, and a collection of remixes from producers extraordinaire Emperor Machine, Dinamo Azari and John Tejada making waves on blogs across the world, anticipation for the album and a rumoured Australian tour is at an all time high.
“Side Of The Road” remixes and Big Black Delta’s self titled debut album is released on via Onelove Recordings.
