MAYA VICE Presents Her New Single 'Equal People'
Melbourne based artist Maya Vice presents ‘Equal People’. Recorded with Jack Arentz (Haxx, Kult Kyss) ‘Equal People’ is a unique soul banger, both bass heavy and harmony stacked, combining electronic elements and Maya’s honey smooth vocal styling with a handful of soulful features from local artists including Jace XL, Stav and Le Fleur.
Layers of electric harmonies and syncopated bass lines introduce a bold refresh of Maya Vice’s sound, while minimal lyrics are used to inspire listeners to reflect on their own insights (but not before getting lost in the feel good elements of the track). “Equal People’ ends on the choral refrain of ‘What kind of people make us feel equal’, calling on listeners to treat all people with the equality they deserve (while giving yourself some love), via a conscientious club anthem for 2021.
Striving to curate her visions to life, ‘Equal People’ also provided Maya a chance to write and direct a high spirited accompanying video. Shot and edited by William Coast (local Melbourne photographer and videographer), and captured at one of Melbourne's most iconic Fitzroy live music venues The Night Cat, featuring an epic plethora of truly diverse local artists showcasing their best versions of themselves!
