TRACK BY TRACK Breakdown with Brazillian Bass Newcomer Calli.
Brazillian bass newcomer calli (“calli dot”) has just dropped 4 bass heavy crystalline trap gems today.
With massive trap beats and sweat inducing hard slap drops, calli is here to make his own mark on the genre. Each track leans into a more diverse realm than the last and is sure to expand your mind to new reasoning.
We thought that we would get a track by track breakdown of each song on the EP from the artist himself.
STEADY was the last track to get done for the EP. There are a couple very different versions of it but this one was the one that worked best for me as an intro for the project. Really enjoyed how it turned out. I kind of see it as a mashup of my biggest inspirations in a way.
I feel like BACK UP is my favourite. I had never written a track like this before, both in style and production methods. Was able to stop overthinking for a bit and this one came together pretty smoothly in about two sessions.
NO ESCAPE was the one it took the longest to get done. Wanted to have a more commercial type banger on the project and I think I got a pretty good result. This one went through a few people to get some insight and opinions on it to make sure I got it right.
TIME was the first one to be done. It was originally made for another project I had in mind at the time but ended up being the closer track to the EP. Got most of it done in just one session with a friend who played the guitar for it and just made a couple adjustments to fit the vibe of the EP a bit better along the way. Very proud of this one, simplicity sometimes is key.
